Free work from home opportunities

Working and earning money from home can look like a dream, but it can also be a reality. You can be cautious of the strategies of earning money by working at home, but they do exist. Here are some of them :

Projects always take longer than you initially think they will. For that reason, you’ll frequently get done less than you set out to do. So, just as you’re encouraged to overestimate how much time you’ll spent doing one thing, you should also overestimate how many things you’ll do during the day. Even if you come up short of your goal, you’ll still come out of that day with a solid list of tasks filed under ‘complete.’ Nobody sprints through their work from morning to evening — your motivation will naturally ebb and flow throughout the day. When you’re working from home, however, it’s all the more important to know when those ebbs and flows will take place and plan your schedule around it.

Cyber Crafter: If you’re a crafter, the internet is your showcase — and not only at auction sites like eBay. DeWitt Young of ObviousFront.etsy.com has had success turning her crafts into cash online. She has a booth at Etsy.com’s Craft Mall, an amazing place where thousands of artisans and crafters offer their goods for sale. DeWitt turns salvaged parts from old TVs and VCRs into artsy necklaces, earrings, and figures. Colleen Jordan of wearableplanter uses 3D printing to create her necklaces called wearable planters. If you need a little help kicking off your projects, Shapeways is a 3D printing company with simple apps to help you customize your own designs, anything from a wedding band in rose gold, a vase in ceramic, or your own bobble head printed in full color. All for the purpose of generating sales.

Get out of the house. Meagan French, marketing consultant with San Francisco-based Meagan French Marketing, likes to work out of coffee shops. “Leaving my house to work helps separate my work time and personal time,” she says. Make a stoplight for family members. Here’s an idea from John Meyer, CEO of Miramar, Florida-based work-at-home call center company Arise Virtual Solutions. Hang or tape colored construction paper on your office door. “Tape the red light up when you cannot be disturbed and the green light when it’s OK to come in. Yellow light means to check first,” he says. “Kids, no matter what age, understand the message and enjoy playing along.” (For more commentary on how to deal with distractions from kids, check out 3 tips for working from home with kids.) One of the easiest ways is to ensure you get paid weekly is to be self-employed and working directly with freelance clients. By eliminating the middleman (i.e. a freelance platform like Fiverr or Upwork) where payment can be delayed because the platform collects the payment, keeps a small percentage, and pays you at their convenience. By working directly with a client, you both decide on a payment schedule if the work is recurring. Since you work at home, the easiest payment method will be PayPal. You send an invoice once a job is completed and you receive the money as soon as the client approves the invoice.
